PULSE RAISER (BEGINNING OF LESSON)
1. Have the children spread out around and between the mats 2. Choose some of the following fundamental shapes to practise: Straight, Tuck, Star, Straddle, Pike, Front Support, Back Support, Landing position 3. Practice each of the chosen shapes multiple times in different positions for recognition 4. Begin with a walk . Appoint a leader to lead the warm-up, and the rest follow in a line, weaving around and between mats 5. While walking, call out one of the shapes 6. Prompt children to stop and perform the called shape 7. Transition to other pulse raiser exercises (e.g. side steps, hopping, jumping, monkey walking) 8. Introduce another shape, and children stop to perform it 9. Repeat each shape numerous times, adjusting based on the lesson duration, and include various pulse raiser exercises for engagement Pulse raiser
